Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Department of Computer Science seeks a highly organized and personable professional with exceptional attention to detail to join our business office. The incumbent will coordinate and process all reimbursements for the department. This position has a strong customer-service focus that will support faculty, students, staff, and constituents at all levels.
Duties Include:
- Processing all travel reimbursements and/or making travel arrangements directly for non-employees including visitors and students not on payroll
- Processing all non-travel reimbursements to employees and non-employees through UMD, the University System of Maryland Foundation (USMF), or the University of Maryland College Park Foundation (UMCPF)
- Processing disbursement requests to both USMF and UMCPF to reimburse UMD for expenses
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in accounting, finance, or business-related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience
- Two (2) years of experience in accounting and administration are required.
- One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of the required education.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail and an ability to execute multiple assignments under specific time constraints while being able to work well under pressure.
- Superlative organizational/record-keeping skills.
- Outstanding communication skills to ensure both the person seeking reimbursement as well as business office staff are kept updated.
- Strong computer skills required including Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and Google suite.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff.
- Dedication to providing excellent service to internal and external customers.
Preferences:
Preferences:
- Working experience in higher education, specifically at UMD, strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of university software tools and/or systems such as Concur, KFS, Workday and others
- Knowledge of UMD’s travel policies and procedures
- Knowledge of USMF and UMCPF policies and procedures

Able to maneuver around the campus and/or drive a vehicle to attend meetings, trainings, workshops, seminars, etc.
